Standard Licence (Tier 2)

Last updated: 10 January 2026

1. About this licence

This Standard Licence governs the use of lite.news content made available through licensed RSS and JSON feeds under the Tier 2 plan.

lite.news is owned and operated by NXT Ltd, a UK-registered company. By accessing or using Tier 2 licensed feeds, you agree to be bound by the terms set out on this page.

2. Parties

This licence is granted by NXT Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the legal entity that subscribes to the Tier 2 plan (“you”, “your”).

If you are subscribing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to this licence.

3. Licensed content

“Licensed Content” means original articles and related metadata produced by lite.news and delivered to you via Tier 2 licensed feeds.

Access to a feed does not, by itself, grant permission to reuse content. Reuse rights arise only under this licence.

4. Permitted use

Subject to compliance with this licence and payment of applicable fees, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:

  • Publish Licensed Content on one owned and controlled domain or application.
  • Use Licensed Content for editorial and informational purposes.
  • Display, format, and present the content as part of your own publishing output.

This licence is limited to your own publication or product and does not permit onward distribution.

5. Restrictions

You must not, under this Tier 2 licence:

  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or syndicate Licensed Content to third parties.
  • Publish the same Licensed Content across multiple domains, apps, or networks.
  • Offer Licensed Content as part of a content API, feed, or aggregation service.
  • Remove or obscure required attribution.
  • Use Licensed Content in a way that is misleading or materially alters its meaning.

Any use outside these limits requires a Tier 3 custom licence.

6. Attribution

Where Licensed Content is published, reasonable attribution to lite.news is required unless otherwise agreed.

Attribution should be clear and visible to readers, for example:

“Source: lite.news”

The exact placement and format may vary to suit your design, provided attribution remains clear.

7. Technical limits and access

Tier 2 feeds are provided with rolling content windows and item limits as described on the Feeds page.

We may apply reasonable technical measures, including rate limiting or access controls, to protect service reliability and prevent misuse.

8. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in Licensed Content remain with NXT Ltd or its licensors. No ownership rights are transferred under this licence.

This licence grants a right to use content, not a transfer of copyright.

9. Term and termination

This licence remains in effect for the duration of your active Tier 2 subscription.

We may suspend or terminate access if:

  • Subscription fees are not paid when due.
  • You materially breach this licence.
  • Use of the feeds poses a risk to service integrity.

Upon termination, you must cease further publication of Licensed Content. Previously published content may remain online for a reasonable period unless otherwise requested.

10. Warranties and liability

Licensed Content is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not warrant that content will be complete, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, NXT Ltd excludes liability for losses arising from use of the Licensed Content. Nothing in this licence limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

11. Governing law

This licence is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from it.

12. Contact

Questions about this licence or permitted use can be directed via the contact page.

Important note

This Standard Licence applies only to Tier 2 subscriptions. Custom arrangements, formats, or distribution models require a separate agreement.
