DroidUp Unveils Moya Humanoid Robot With Warm Synthetic Skin in Shanghai

Shanghai-based startup DroidUp presented its humanoid robot, Moya, at Zhangjiang Robotics Valley in early 2026. The unveiling marked the introduction of a new robotic platform with features designed for human interaction in various public settings.

Moya is described by DroidUp as a biometric AI robot equipped with synthetic skin that maintains a temperature similar to that of a human body. The company stated that this feature is intended to support more natural interactions in environments such as train stations, banks, museums, and healthcare facilities.

The robot operates using the Walker 3 skeletal platform, which, according to DroidUp, enables it to achieve a walking pattern that is approximately 92% similar to human gait. Cameras located behind Moya’s eyes allow the robot to perform facial tracking and display micro-expressions during interactions.

Moya stands about 1.65 meters tall and weighs around 32 kilograms. Its modular design supports customization, including the choice of male or female head designs, as well as flesh-like padding beneath silicone skin and an internal rib-cage structure.

The modular construction of Moya allows for the customization of its appearance, which includes options for different head designs and internal structures. DroidUp stated that these features are meant to adapt the robot for various applications and user preferences.

Moya is expected to be available for purchase in late 2026, with a projected price of approximately $173,000. DroidUp has not yet announced specific deployment partners or customers for the robot at this stage.
