Andhra Pradesh has recently hosted a series of summits and launched educational programmes to support advancements in artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, involving collaboration between government, academia, and industry partners.
In January 2026, Visakhapatnam was the venue for the AP Digital Technology Summit 2026 and AP Innovators Summit 2026, which brought together over 1,000 participants, including senior executives, academics, startup founders, and students. These events featured speakers from companies such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Bosch, who addressed the rapid evolution of technology and the necessity for ongoing learning and adaptability, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
Earlier, in July 2025, the Fusion AI Summit 2025 was conducted in the same city under the APDTI Network. This two-day event included panel discussions on topics such as agentic AI, generative AI for business use, physical AI, and the integration of edge and cloud technologies. Attendance exceeded 1,100 delegates, with representation from corporate sectors, government, research institutions, entrepreneurs, and students.
In June 2025, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) approved new minor degree programmes focused on quantum technologies and artificial intelligence. The curriculum includes an 18-credit minor in quantum technologies for engineering students, a 16-credit minor for general stream students, and an 18-credit minor in artificial intelligence available to both streams. The initiative also features faculty development programmes for 500 educators in physics, computer science, electronics, and mathematics, supported by the Department of Science and Technology, TCS, and IBM.
What the numbers show
- Over 1,000 delegates attended the AP Digital Technology Summit 2026
- More than 1,100 participants joined the Fusion AI Summit 2025
- APSCHE’s faculty development covers 500 faculty members
- Quantum and AI minor degree programmes approved in June 2025
Cybersecurity was also a focus at the CyberSecure Andhra 2025 conference, where policymakers and industry representatives discussed the integration of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and digital safety frameworks to enhance the state's cybersecurity measures. During this conference, Sanjay Chittore, Founder and CEO of Quantum AI Global, introduced a patented post-quantum security framework called Q-Forte, designed for use in identity management, cloud computing, IoT, blockchain, and digital transactions.
The Andhra Pradesh government is working on the development of the Amaravati Quantum Valley, a dedicated ecosystem for quantum technologies. This project is being established in partnership with IBM, TCS, and L&T, with the goal of creating a hub for quantum computing and related research and development activities.
These initiatives reflect coordinated efforts across multiple sectors to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position in emerging technologies. The involvement of global technology firms and educational institutions is contributing to the development of skills and infrastructure in the region.
By supporting summits, educational programmes, and collaborative projects, Andhra Pradesh is taking procedural steps to encourage growth in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and digital safety frameworks.
